Meet the Team

Kelsey Faykus

Staff

Kelsey Faykus was born and raised in a small town, Thrall, TX. She attended Southwestern University from 2015-2019, where she earned her business degree, played for the SU women’s basketball team, and participated in FCA and Young Life.

Kelsey’s Young Life story began during her time at SU. As a lost student, her Young Life leader loved her into the Kingdom and pointed her to Jesus. From a place of being loved, her life completely changed and she began walking with high school kids as a volunteer Young Life leader at Georgetown High School. After graduating from Southwestern, she worked at Dell Technologies in the world of marketing for a couple of years.

In 2019, Kelsey stepped away from her marketing profession and came on part-time Young Life staff at Southwestern University. She transitioned back into high school ministry, where she is now a full-time staff associate, loving on her high school friends. Kelsey loves to paint, play round ball, and adventure with people. You can find her in 309 coffee or rollerblading around town.

Zach Otte

Staff

Zachary was born in Dallas, Texas, and spent ten years there before his family moved to Austin. He was a Young Life Kid in high school, through which he was introduced to Jesus. After high school, he worked in retail management for a few years while volunteering as a Young Life team leader at Crockett High School in South Austin.

In 2020, Zachary joined Young Life staff in South Austin through the Developing Future Leaders program. After finishing the program, he moved to Georgetown at the end of 2021 to do high school ministry in Georgetown. Zachary is an avid soccer fan (Up the Reds!), and his favorite spot in Georgetown is Mikey V's Tacos on the Square.
